It all started with an idea to turn my passion into something more
For most of my life I worked in large and small companies, no matter how much freedom of action I had, there was always a superior who held me accountable for everything. I often did meaningless things just because the boss wanted me to. From the beginning I felt that this kind of work was not for me, but at the time I didn’t know yet that it was possible to do things differently. I also didn’t have the courage to change it. I wasn’t entirely happy.
When I realized that I wanted to work for myself, to be my own boss, I decided to open my own business and do what I like, which is to crochet and create. Of course, all the time I was accompanied by concerns: Will it succeed? Does it make sense? How will I support myself without a regular salary? However, I felt a certain relief and peace of mind, I felt that I was in control of my life and was deciding for myself. This turned out to be very important for me.
I am a creative person and I like to create
I create out of a passion for things that are beautiful, functional and eco-friendly, and through that it bring pleasure to others in their daily lives. Handicrafts is a space for me where I can show what I can do and fulfill myself as a creator. As a creative person, I have feel a need to create. This allows me to convey without words what is inside me, what I really feel and think. I love designing and creating something new that isn’t there yet, it gives me great satisfaction and motivation.
I have always enjoyed buying handmade items. I understand how much effort and work it takes to create something unique and special. I also understand where the higher price comes from in relation to products bought in chain stores. I prefer to put down a larger amount and buy something handmade, high quality, from a local small company, which will serve me for years. Also, the motivation to take care of the item is higher when you spend a larger amount when you buy it.
Why Intriq?
I thought for a long time what the name of my brand should be. I was starting to build a brand in Poland. My name was understandable only to Polish people and for others it was difficult to pronounce. After deciding to move to Germany, I had to bet on an English-language name that would be understandable to everyone and easy to remember.
The name was created by combining several words. I create things for interior design, mainly poufs and rugs, so the beginning of the name “In” is from the word interior. When creating interior design and to give it character, it can be said that certain tricks are used so that is “triq”. This is how the name Intriq was created.
